Tip of the Week

A free, national program called "Look Good...Feel Better"
teaches cancer patients beauty techniques that help their appearance and spirits. The LGFB program began in 1989 and has helped over 200,000 women. There are programs available to Hispanic women and teenagers (boys included) as well.
Three sponsoring partners work together to provide patient education, free program materials and free makeup kits for patients in group workshops.
They include: The Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association (CTFA) Foundation, The American Cancer Society (ACS) and The National Cosmetologist Association (NCA).
The CTFA contributes over 800,000 pieces of cosmetics each year ($10 million value) and raises more than $1 Million to support LGFB.
Some of these contributing cosmetic companies are: Avon,
Chanel Inc, Estee Lauder Companies Inc, Mary Kay Inc, just to name a few.
The American Cancer Society serves as the primary source of information to the public.
The National Cosmetologist Association is a national organization that organizes and helps the volunteer cosmetologists.
