A common dilemma for many parents is deciding at what age to let their kids wear makeup. There is no specific age that is appropriate for everyone, but in general, if your child is anxious to wear makeup, it's best to indulge them, at least a little bit.
Most girls go through an awkward phase around age 11, and using a little bit of makeup can help boost their self-esteem (by way of self-appearance). It's best to start your child out with a makeup kit that contains a few coordinating shadows, blush, concealer, and lip gloss. Sonia Kashuk for Target makes very affordable kits. Her Face Palette Compact is under $20, and comes in four different shades that will work on any skin tone.
i like that idea
thats good advice. Because i'm not sure when I should start using make up but now i get the idea. :)
i completley agree with the awkward age at 11 thing - im 12 now but i remember being 11 - you feel you want to be like your friends and want to seem older but feel like your parents are holding you back - if you are a parent reading this and have a tween girl , please take my advice - it helps.
Awesome! I Love that idea!
I'm blessed with 2 naturally georgous girls. About 3 years ago my oldest who was 12 started wearing make-up and this pressured my youngest who's a 2 years yonger then her to start. I feel like I should of waited on my older daughter because I think it forced my youngest, who was always a Tom Boy, to prematurely get into stuff like boys and "being hot". All I am saying is that mothers with two girls should be careful when letting the first one where make up.
i say 14 is the best age because your entering highschool and thats just what you need to brighten up your day. :D
